Teslin TP Whitehorse June 7th - 11th

A map of our trip from Smithers to Whitehorse.

It is about a three hour drive from Watson Lk. to Teslin TP. We got there early and settled in for two days. The campsite is a little unusual, the picnic table is behind the trailer, not beside it. Very nice though and as you can see, sunny and warm. It still got cold at night and we used the furnace in the morning to take the chill off. We were going to light a fire but it was too warm and our chairs inside are too comfy to go out after dinner.

We went to leave and the slide would not come in, the drive shear pin had broken. I had anticipated that and had a new one installed in about fifteen minutes. I will stop at the RV dealer here in Whitehorse and see if I can pick up a couple more.

The inverter also decided to pack it in, not sure what is wrong, just won't start. We decided to buy a new larger one. Of course, that means it won't fit in the space the old one was in and the power cables would be too small. So, after buying all the things needed to do the job and spending too much time on my knees, it is in and running. Now we have to rearrange the pots and pans, because I used that space for the new inverter. I managed to get a new shelf in, things are pretty much the same as before the new inverter, that is on the very bottom of the picture.

Hopefully, this is the end of our on the road repairs.

Yesterday, Doug and Linda had us over for lunch. It was great, as was the company.

This RV park is very tight but it works for what we needed.

We are ready to head into new country for us, up toward Dawson City. I doubt there will be any cell service on our way there. We want to take our time and enjoy this part of Canada. So we will see you in a week or so.
